A big thank you to all the parents who donated to our Valentine's Day Party!
Farms of the Future- The third graders did an amazing job researching, designing, and presenting their Farms of the Future! http://www.mansfieldnewsjournal.com/article/20130219/NEWS01/302190012/Discovery-students-offer-ideas-future-farms
Did you know yesterday was Digital Learning Day? Students all over Ohio were plugged in and learning through different forms of technology. We were involved in the possibility of getting a world record of most students learning online in one day!
The third grade students went on a scavenger hunt online to learn about forms of energy, non-renewable energy, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and the science behind energy. Did you know crayons are made from oil? We can process oil into many valuable products, but it is a non-renewable resource! Third Grade has been diving deep into Charlotte's Web. It is awesome how integrated this book has become. A big thank you to Mrs. Bishop for creating a Spanish/English dictionary with us with the characters and themes from the book. We have been listening to music and discussing what parts of the book he music could go with. We are gobbling up new vocabulary from the story. I am most excited about the science integration. More information on those projects will be posted soon!
