Fall OAA Test On Tuesday, October 2, 2012 our third graders will be taking the OAA Reading test. It is a state required test for all third grade students. The test will be administered beginning promptly at 8:30 AM on the day of the test. No homework will be given Monday or Tuesday evening. | September Book Projects In September we focused on realistic fiction and character traits. The students then spent time creating, designing, and imagining ways to present their books to the class. Everyone did a great job. I am already looking forward to our Mystery Projects at the end of October. |
This month we will be working on questioning and making predictions in language arts and guided reading. As your child reads at home, you can help us with these strategies by asking your child questions about the characters, setting, problem or mystery elements in their story and what they think will happen next! Each child is also allowed to play the games at home. I had the third graders tape their usernames and passwords to their agenda books! "Wow, this is fun!" "I can't believe this is really math!" "Can we play this at home?"
We are studying rocks, minerals, and gemstones! I love when children see that information we are learning today will help them in their future careers. A big thank you to Mr. O'Brien from Bohland Jewelers!
