2nd and 3rd graders worked on answering the big question: "How can we give back?" Too often during the holidays we think we can only give if we have money. Our kids proved that you can give time, attention, handshakes full of energy, stories full enthusiasm, and smiles.

Your child was a tiny chef today! Ms. Snow prepared a lesson on writing a How-To Essay. The students had to provide materials for another student to make a sandwich! The trick was the student had to read the other student's written directions exactly.Sounds easy, until someone forgets the part about taking the wrapper off of the cheese!!!
Thanksgiving Break Our Thanksgiving Break will be the 21st-25th. We return to school on Monday the 26th. If your family is going on vacation before or after these dates please let Ms. Oswalt know ahead of time.
Writing So far in writing we have explored our editor’s checklist which includes: including our name and date, using capital letters where appropriate, using correct punctuation, spelling word wall words correctly, and writing a complete thought. This quarter we will be focusing on staying on topic, paragraph formation, and writing in cursive. We will begin cursive by turning our page the correct way, making lines, using the lined paper, and begin lowercase letters.
We learned that you shouldn't drink salt water. Our surface water only makes up 1% of our drinking water, the other water is trapped! There is even water in the air!
We have to treat water in order to drink it. People can die from water born diseases. Pollution harms our water.
